Hi folks, while I'm still continuing to paint my loose realistic watercolors I'm being drawn to abstract expression to play with the medium and still focus on composition/value/contrast and all that other good art stuff that helps make paintings sing!
I've been taking small video art classes from mixed media artists on abstract art and playing with friends online and just having tons of fun during the lockdown. Here's my first batch done from taking a totally random photo, posterizing it and finding small compositions in it...and then using them as a base to paint. Because I am who I am, I don't follow the photo but do my own color palette and work with what's happening on the paper. FUN!
Here they are cropped so you can see each one and oriented to where I like them today. They are in the 5 x 7 range each so they'd make nice original greeting cards!

Which one is your favorite and why?
